New Construction #11.1, Acton is moving along now, but that wasn’t before finding out that our foundation was shot and needed to be torn down after we demo’d the house (surprise!).  If you remember, prior to demo, our engineer confirmed that the existing foundation would be strong enough to build on.  However, after the house was down the

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Rehab #8, Wenham has been completed and is on the market.  Well, after the first open house we heard a lot of buyers mention that the basement wasn’t up to par with the rest of the house.  So my partner and I decided to take it off the market for

I’m relieved to say that we are about 2 weeks away from finishing the rehab on the Wenham project.  This has been one of those projects that went way over budget and way over our scheduled timeline.  Thankfully, all we have remaining is the landscaping, finish plumbing & electrical, countertops, installing the carpet and some miscellaneous carpentry

We closed on Rehab #12 last Thursday and my contractor has already finished the clean-out and stripped and reshingled the roof.  As I mentioned in a recent post, the house was previously occupied by hoarders so there was a ton of “stuff” that had to be hauled out. When I stopped by the property on Sunday and stepped out

As I wrote in a previous post, the past several weeks at the Wenham project have brought nothing but bad news.  First, the roof had to be rebuilt due to insufficient framing, and then the back room due to considerable rot.  On top of all of that, I was given more bad news last week.
